Anthony Weiner, a Hillary Clinton aide who was charged with sexting a child, tries to make his political comeback by vehemently defending Nancy Pelosi's insider trading.

Probably not the best idea. 🧵

He claims that the people who claim insider trading is corrupt have no knowledge of politics.

Interviewer:
Nancy's like a real wolf of Wall Street.
She really knows how to pick them.
She's really incredible at it.
She was very good at her job. She was very good at that. She's unreal.
How the hell does she know what stocks to get behind?

Weiner:
Is that making a joke...

Interviewer:
Yeah.

Weiner:
And I'm not and I'm not playing along.

Interviewer:
You think members of Congress should own stocks?

Weiner:
Why shouldn't members of Congress own stocks?
It's the most transparent fucking body on Earth.
Every fu**ing word is published somewhere.
Every word that's said If you have an investment in something, go ahead. And there's a piece of legislation that would threaten that investment.

Interviewer:
Do you think that is a conflict of interest?

Weiner:
No. Because it's ...What the fu*k are you talking about? Because every fuc**ng piece of legislation is incredibly public and anyone who's investing based on pieces of legislation is not gonna do that....

People have a way for thin, virtually translucent knowledge of politics that gets reinforced by assholes like you."

This is an atrocious angle for someone who is on a child predator list to take.

Everyone knows insider trading is a corrupt practice in DC.

Who does he think he is fooling?
