President Trump signs Executive Order for a “Single Federal Standard that Supersedes All States” to regulate AI

I have mixed feelings about this.. I see the pros and the cons.

🔻 His argument… stems from the likelihood that horrible states will hold up innovation because of extremely high standards. They can’t install their woke BS into it. It’s highly impractical to have 50 different sets of state laws that could harm innovation.

🔻 Counter Argument… this threatens state sovereignty and risks severe future abuse. It also sets a major precedent in favor of federalism…

Overall, President Trump’s concerns about varied state laws slowing progress is valid, but centralized control can become very dangerous if in the wrong hands...

For example— Past federal overreach, like PRISM surveillance, shows how a single AI standard could enable biased algorithms or censorship by a malicious administration. State sovereignty offers checks against such abuses.

I’ve said it before — I trust my President has the best intentions in mind, but what safeguards are there in place for future admins?
