REPORT: Plastic Surgeons Now Using Purified Fat From Cadavers for Cosmetic Procedures
A report says plastic surgeons across the United States are now using “purified fat” taken from cadavers for cosmetic injections, including BBL-related procedures. The product, called AlloClae, is made from sterile fat harvested from dead bodies and injected during in-office treatments, according to the New York Post. The donor fat is processed through multiple cleansing and sterilization steps to remove DNA and other material that could trigger immune reactions. Critics are calling the practice disturbing and raising serious ethical and safety concerns.
