Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke reveals process has started to ban Hizb ut-Tahrir under new hate group laws Burke: “The ASIO advice is in. This is the first time we’ve been able to ban, potentially, a group which falls short of a terrorist listing.”
In response to the attempted bombing terror attack, the WA Government will seek to criminalise the ‘wearing of an intimidating face mask’ and give police greater power to reject protest permits if an event is likely to offend a minority group.
