๐จ This is real. And itโs happening right now.
This is real. And itโs happening right now.
New York just passed the so-called โCOPA Actโ โ a law that would force homeowners to offer their property to the government or NGOs before they can sell it freely.
And one city councilwoman blew the whistle.
Councilwoman Vickie Paladino didnโt mince words. She flat-out warned this is theft by policy.
She called it โridiculous and shamefulโ โ and sheโs right.
Her message was crystal clear:
If you own a home โ whether itโs a two-family, three-family, or four-family โ itโs YOUR property.
You earned it. You own it.
You should be able to sell it to whoever you choose.
Instead, this law forces homeowners to:
โข Go through city bureaucrats
โข Wait six months
โข Give nonprofits first dibs
โข And ask permission to sell what they already own
Thatโs not regulation.
Thatโs government overreach on steroids.
Paladino called it exactly what it is:
๐ โManiacal.โ
She said no homeowner who worked their entire life to buy property should be told they must offer it to a nonprofit first โ while their neighbor across the street couldโve bought it outright.
Her closing line hit hard:
Everyone supporting this should be embarrassed.
This isnโt housing policy.
This is the government inserting itself between you and your property.
If they can do it in New Yorkโฆ
They can try it anywhere.
What do you think โ protection or outright theft? ๐
