NSW Premier Chris Minns says people might not be happy with how protesters were handled on Monday night, but insists the government made the right call in directing police to respond as they did because the situation could have been far worse.
Victoria Police have been granted special powers under the Terrorism Act ahead of Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit to Melbourne. The declaration gives officers authority to identify and search individuals or vehicles within designated areas he is set to attend.
