Did you know you can visually see Frequencies?
Cymatic Frequency
Cymatic frequency refers to the specific sound frequencies that cause visible patterns to form in a medium like sand, water, or powder. These patterns, called cymatic patterns, are geometric and symmetrical and directly correspond to the sound wave's frequency and amplitude.
Higher frequencies create more intricate patterns, while lower frequencies produce simpler shapes. Cymatics, derived from the Greek word for "wave," is the study of these visible sound and vibration patterns.
How it works🔤
Sound interaction with matter: When a sound wave of a certain frequency is applied to a medium, the vibrations move the particles within that medium.
Pattern Formation🔤
The particles shift and align, creating stable, geometric shapes at the points where the wave's energy is most effective. This is a result of the medium's response to the wave's resonant modes, creating standing waves.
Frequency and Pattern🔤
Higher frequencies - Result in more complex and detailed patterns with smaller formations.
Lower frequencies - Create larger, simpler shapes.
Amplitude🔤
The intensity (amplitude) of the sound wave also influences the patterns, with higher amplitudes creating more pronounced shapes.
