It doesn’t seem like he’s done a great job taming them, does it?

Five patent applications for technology that aims to control the weather bear the signature of Bill Gates, January 3, 2008:

1. US Patent Application 20090173386A1
- Title: Water Alteration Structure Applications and Methods
- Abstract: Describes a method for environmental alteration by placing vessels to move water to lower depths via wave-induced downwelling, generating movement of water adjacent to the surface to alter ocean properties like temperature, aimed at hurricane suppression.

2. US Patent Application 20090206171A1
- Title: Water Alteration Structure and System
- Abstract: Details a system with a vessel configured to hold water, equipped with conduits extending below the surface to facilitate the mixing of warm surface water with colder deep water, aimed at reducing hurricane strength.

- Title: Water Alteration Structure Movement Method and System
- Abstract: Focuses on the propulsion and positioning systems for vessels to strategically place them in the path of hurricanes to cool ocean surfaces by pumping cold water from depth.

- Abstract: Outlines methods for managing risks associated with water alteration structures, including ecological impacts, while deploying systems to modify ocean temperatures for weather control.
