Federal MP Phillip Thompson has introduced his bill to criminalise the desecration of the Australian flag, declaring that “Australians are fed up” with seeing the flag disrespected “while allowing flags of listed terrorist organisations to be paraded in our streets.”
The motion received bipartisan support in Parliament.
