A key Liberal figure says a new racial vilification offence removed from the government's "hate speech" bill after a massive backlash should be brought back. The Coalition is currently working with Labor to pass the rest of the controversial legislation.
Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said he wishes the government was “going harder” on hate speech than they are in the legislation being put forward tomorrow.
