The Nova Scotia government has banned hiking, fishing, camping, and vehicle use in wooded areas from August 5, 2025, until October 15, 2025
Penalties: Violating these restrictions carries a fine of $25,000, as outlined in the Summary Offence Tickets Regulations under the Forests Act.
• The restrictions apply to both provincial Crown land and PRIVATE land. Private landowners can use their own properties but are not permitted to host others for activities in wooded areas of their land.
