Pauline Hanson has been censured after Senator Penny Wong moved a motion condemning her burqa ‘stunt’ in the chamber yesterday afternoon.
Wong said that while freedom of expression is central to Australia, Hanson’s behaviour puts the country in danger of being “swamped by hatred.”
Labor, Liberals, Nationals, Greens and the Independents backed the censure, with only One Nation and Ralph Babet voting against it.
Penny Wong has also threatened to suspend Pauline Hanson for an extended period of time if she doesn’t apologise.
