US President Donald Trump said the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement is irrelevant to the United States during a visit to Detroit, arguing the country does not need vehicles produced in Canada or Mexico and should bring manufacturing back domestically.
President Trump also said he would take “very strong action” if Iran harms protesters, urged demonstrators to continue protesting, and warned that those responsible for any harm would face consequences.
The US State Department urged Americans to leave Iran immediately, advising land departures and warning that US government assistance should not be relied upon.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is travelling to China for the first Canadian prime ministerial visit in nearly a decade, seeking to stabilise relations and expand trade as US tariffs and an “America First” agenda strain Canada’s economy.
Somalia cancelled all agreements with the United Arab Emirates after a UAE-backed Yemeni separatist leader, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, allegedly entered Somali territory through Somaliland without authorization, with officials saying the incident was one factor among broader concerns over sovereignty violations.
