Russia has deployed naval vessels to escort an oil tanker that US officials say they plan to board and seize over alleged sanctions violations linked to past shipments of Iranian and Venezuelan oil, as the vessel transits international waters in the North Atlantic.
The White House said President Donald Trump and his team are discussing a range of options to acquire Greenland, including the possible use of the US military, describing the move as a national security priority.
The United Kingdom and France said they would deploy forces to Ukraine if a peace deal with Russia is reached, signing a declaration of intent that outlines post-ceasefire security measures including troop deployments, military hubs, and long-term arms support.
The Saudi-led coalition said it carried out strikes in Yemen’s southern Dhale governorate after Southern Transitional Council leader Aidarous al-Zubaidi failed to board a plane to Riyadh for talks and allegedly mobilised forces, prompting what the coalition described as preemptive action.
US President Donald Trump said Venezuela will hand over between 30 and 50 million barrels of sanctioned oil currently in storage, which would be transported to the United States, sold at market prices, and have its revenues controlled by him for use benefiting both countries.
