Australia's controversial "hate speech" laws have passed the Senate, 38 votes to 22, after 10 Liberals voted with Labor.
Part 1: Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says he is not concerned about the chilling effect the hate speech laws may have on free speech, arguing the laws are needed to stop racist bigotry and that the so called "free speech brigade" simply needs to get over it.
