Australia's controversial "hate speech" laws have passed the Senate, 38 votes to 22, after 10 Liberals voted with Labor.
Liberal MP Andrew Hastie has voted for Labor's "hate speech" bill, just days after warning it was an "attack on basic democratic freedoms" and promising to oppose it. Aussies reacted by calling him a "traitor".
